Establish in Uppsala 2014

by Jörgen Eriksson on November 20, 2014

2014-11-18 12.13.29On Tuesday this week I participated a inspiration speaker in the Establish in Uppsala 2014 forum. It was a an overall inspirational event also for me. The Chamber of Commerce had organised and managed to get more than 60 of the key place managers in Uppsala to attend.

The participants came from all four sectors of Government, business, academia and civil society. In the picture on the right is the organiser and moderator Göran Brocknäs, the dynamic CEO of the Uppsala Chamber of Commerce.

During the day, we worked on creative assignments in small groups. The three questions to discuss were:

  1. How can unused land in the central area of Uppsala be redeveloped and which target groups should it be developed for?
  2. How can Uppsala develop an inclusive and encompassing vision for growth, taking the city´s assets and capabilities into account?
  3. How can each individual attending contribute to develop Uppsala as an even more attractive city to live and work?

At mid day we were served a healthy and spicy goulash soup and then everyone went back to their day jobs, inspired to collaborate to develop Uppsala for the future.

I took some videos of speeches. Here is a talk by Jonas Bjuggren from the real estate developer Vasakronan:
